Colin Browne is originally from Northern Ireland and studied Mathematics and Meteorology at the University of Reading. After time as a weather forecaster in Belfast, he moved to Switzerland in 2003 and started teaching English as a foreign language at various companies. This also included time as a British Council language assistant at the Kantonsschule Rämibühl (MNG).
Since 2005, he has been working as an English Immersion Coach at Kantonsschule Baden where he supports and coaches the teachers taking part in the immersion programme. His other two main schools now include Kantonsschule Romanshorn (2007) and Kantonsschule Büelrain Winterthur (2008). He also supports several other schools in Aargau and Zurich on a consultancy basis.
He has completed project work for the Institut für Gymnasial- und Berufspädagogik (IGB) and given numerous immersion related presentations and workshops on behalf of the Schweizerische Zentralstelle für die Weiterbildung der Mittelschullehrpersonen (WBZ CPS) and the Mittelschul- und Berufsbildungsamt des Kantons Zürich (MBA).
He successfully completed his Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the University of London's Institute of Education in 2012.
