  2. Accept the License Agreement by clicking "Accept License Agreement".

  3. Chose the download link according to your operating system (e.g. Windows or Linux) and save the installation file on your harddisk.

  4. Start the installation of the JRE by double clicking (i.e. executing) the installation file and follow the further instructions.

Background information: Java JRE

To run the InfoTraffic environment, your machine needs the Java J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) Version 1.5 or higher, respectively 1.5 or higher for DynaTraffic. Java comes in two variations: The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) runs Java-programs, whereas the JDK (Java Software Development Kit) contains a compiler to develop Java-programs. The SDK contains the JRE.

To start InfoTraffic, you only need the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

The company Sun Microsystems provides the JRE for free for several platforms.

Note for Mac OS users

Mac OS X has the Java SDK already installed. Earlier versions of the Mac operating systems do not support Java version 1.3 or higher.
