Ice cave and new proglacial lake 2016

Every spring a tunnel is dug into Rhonegletscher. During summer it serves as a major tourist attraction. In recent years incresingly large areas of the glacier surface have been covered with insulating material in order to reduce ablation. All photos of this page were taken on 6. October 2016.
