Before Triftgletscher's catastrophic recession it had probably the best developed ogives of all the glaciers in the Swiss Alps.

View towards the north; with Gadmertal in the background. Note the rock is bare of almost all vegetation to the north of the glacier tongue and the riegel right in front. This shows the extent of the glacier during the Little Ice Age.
