ContentsArrangement of important ideas and problems on basic probability calculus in 12 workshops, each containing a folder with experiments, explanations and exercises and a folder with solutions
Suitable forGymnasium, 10th–12th year
PrerequisitesNone. However, some exercises (in workshop 6) are easier to solve if permutations and combinations are understood.
TimeNumber of lessons required is indicated on each workshop. In total there are about 26 lessons (excluding tests).

What's it about?

The main idea is to give an introduction into probability calculus by making the students experiment a lot and by doing so, grasping the ideas behind it intuitively. The 12 workshops are designed to be a SOL unit, i.e. the students study the papers and work in pairs on their own. The first six workshops cover the basics and are independent from each other. Workshops 7 to 12 are also independent from each other and cover some additional aspects including the expected value, the standard deviation and conditional probabilities.
