Breadbrust bombs are typical of Vulcano. This one is the biggest and has a diameter of about 3m.
Prominent red ash layers along the Fossa crater's southwestern rim. Note the fumarole fields on the far side of the crater.
From the south rim the view opens (away from the crater) towards the geologically older, southern part of the island. Behind prominent, dark peak of Monte Saraceno the coast of Sicily.
