At the moment there is no official meteorological station on Stromboli. Regular weather observations were made from the late 1940ies to the 70ies. Data were published in «Le Isole Lipari, settimo volume, Stromboli, a cura di Pino Paino» (reprint of «Die Liparischen Inseln», siebentes Heft, Stromboli» Prag 1896: dark colours in the diagrams). From 1997 till 1999 we recorded some weather data in the village (light colours in the diagrams).

Stromboli's climate is typically mediterranean, with temperature extremes moderated by the sea. In San Vincenzo, the temperature average from 1952 to 1973 was 18.3°C. The highest temperature recorded during this period was 39.6°C, the lowest 1.4°C. The average annual precipitation (1947 to 1977) was 580mm.
