Crater Lake

Palisade Point

Imagine, for a moment, that all water were removed from Crater Lake. You would then see a small stratovolcano just about where the sun's reflection on the water is in the photo above. Called Merriam Cone, this volcano formed (like Wizard Island) relatively briefly after the caldera's collapse. However, its summit never reached the present lake level, from which it is still 148m short.
