The Rose Tattoo, 1951 - Summary
- Serafina Delle Rose is a Sicilian woman now living in the American South. She mourns the death of her beloved husband, constantly telling herself stories of their time together. She forbids her daughter to have any relation with boys. Her fragile emotional existence is shattered when she discovers that her husband had been carrying on with another woman. Serafina then meets truck driver Alvaro Mangiacavallo, and their tentative romance may help her through this troubling time. But her daughter gets to know of this relation and Serafina has to defend herself.
