This glacier, Vadret Palü, is not part of the Morteratsch glacier system but lies nearby. It is seen here from the Bernina Pass road. Considerable retreat of the glacier tongue is made particularly evident by new waterfalls, a large new rock outcrop in the centre and a smaller one at the left horizon (photos Joachim Wolff).
